What to Expect at a Whisky Boss Tasting Experience

Private Tasting Flights are approximately 1½ hrs long and consist of 4 whisky samples. Each sample will be accompanied by stories and instructions for how to appreciate that whisky best.

I will travel to the location of your choice and host a tasting at your selected destination. We provide glassware and all of the tools required for hosting. I accept bookings for a minimum of 8 people.

WHISKY FLIGHT OPTIONS

The Bourbon Whiskey Experience

The Canadian Whisky Experience

The Irish Whiskey Experience

The Scotch Single Malt Experience

The Metallica Experience (Hell Yeah!)

The Single Malt Whisky Tour Experience

The Japanese Experience (Coming Soon)

All flights also include a surprise guest bottle for tasting or a whisky-based cocktail upon completion.

I provide tasting sheets where the four drams are placed and participants can sample and record what they see, nose, and taste. Guests can also rate their favorite whisky and keep the tasting sheet as a reference.

Before we sample, I explain what information you can receive by looking at whisky in the glass, then proceed to nosing and tasting. We experiment with adding water and how that affects the flavors. I briefly talk about the history of each whisky and the production process from farm to bottle. As I discuss this process, we will take a few pauses and sample the drams, and I’ll do a deep dive into the particular whisky we are sampling.

At the end, I reveal the guest bottle (5th sample) and pour drams for those interested. For those who are interested in a Whisky-based cocktail, I will craft and serve those.

There are a few surprises that take place at an event to heighten the experience/tasting all around. So I’ll leave that to the imagination. Gotta love the element of surprise!

I host event whisky-tasting stations for larger crowds (weddings, corporate events etc.) who are not looking for a sit-down experience. In this scenario, I put together a flight of 5 whisky options and guests can come up to my standing station to sample and discuss each dram. Similar to above, I will tell a very brief story about each bottle they select and teach guests how to enjoy each whisky through sight, smell, and taste.

Cheers,
