Hello fellow whisk(e)y enthusiasts. I’m Tim, the whisky boss!

When I turned 19, I bought my first bottle of scotch - it was a bottle of Chivas Regal 12yr. I bought it at random, had no palate for it, and did not enjoy it.

Everyone I knew was drinking beer (Budweiser or Molson - before micro breweries and craft beer was a thing) and I knew there had to be more to life then drinking domestic beer. However, I didn't give up on scotch. I went out and bought Johnnie Walker Black Label mainly because it’s well marketed. Guess what?! I actually liked it. That led me to read about their line up and purchase Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Honestly, I was not a fan. It was so beyond my palate and decided to take a step back from scotch after that.

Then Jack Daniel's (another well marketed whiskey) entered my life.

OMG

The delicious flavours I got from that Tennessee whisky were amazing. Jack was good neat, and with Coke and ice. If you haven't had a Jack and coke in a while (or ever), I suggest pouring yourself a glass. This was my go to drink until I couldn't handle the coke anymore. The sugar messed with my stomach. So again, I left the whisky scene for a while. The occasional whisky was ordered at the bar but that was it.

One day I watched a Lemmy (the singer from Motörhead) documentary. He drank Jack all the time. I think he even replaced water with Jack. Somehow I ended up back on the Jack train after that but this time I enjoyed it neat. Oddly enough, I also became a fan of Bobby Darin after watching the Kevin Spacey movie "Beyond the Sea" which led me to Frank Sinatra - another big fan of Jack.

In my opinion, there’s no right or wrong when it comes to whisky. Everyone has their own palate and will pick up on different notes. Any way you like to enjoy your whisky - neat, on the rocks, mixed… it's all good with me as long as you’re drinking whisky.

How Did I Get Into Whisk(e)y Tasting?

Fast forward to my bachelor Party in 2016. I was brought to a Whisky bar and I learned that whisky flights existed. At the time micro breweries were spreading like a wildfire and I’d travel to various breweries and sample flights all the time. If I’d known about whisky flights sooner… I'm sure my life would have taken a different path. Probably would have worked at a distillery or something of that nature.

I was SO interested in all the flight options but I defaulted to the Jack Daniels flight since Jack and I have a history. Turns out there was more than the classic Jack Daniels No.7 out there. Go figure. I sampled No.4, No.7, Gentlemen Jack, and Single Barrel. That flight further opened my eyes to the world of whisky. I jumped down the whiskey rabbit hole, boarded the train and never looked back. I started reading more about whisky and realized that everything I had tried prior to that moment didn't count. It was like I hadn't tried any whiskies before.

I'm currently focused on exploring different whiskies and appreciating everything about them - the aromas, flavors, colours, distillation process, history etc. I want to help everyone jump on the whisky train and not waste time not knowing about the awesomeness that whiskey has to offer. I can’t wait to teach you more about whiskey and help you celebrate life’s special moments both big and small with a glass of the perfect whisky.

I would be honoured to be apart of your story and help you explore the world of whisky through a private tasting or consultation.

"Its not about the whiskey, it’s the lives you touch and the people you meet, and whiskey is a by product of a good relationship."
