Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Whisky Lovers
It can be tough to figure out what to get for someone for Valentine’s Day. When you can’t figure out what to get someone, you likely turn on the web and search for gifts or ideas to boost your creativity! You either find the perfect gift for that special someone OR like me, you find yourself wasting time searching the web not liking any of the gift ideas. Do I really want a rocket shaped decanter? No thanks. Or you might find something cool but it’s from the other side of the world and costs a small fortune to ship or better yet, shipping isn’t available at all.
So I’ve put together this list of great whisky gift ideas for my fellow Ontarian’s (those who live on Ontario, Canada). You might think this list will be the same time waster as the other whisky gift guides out there but I like to think it’s a bit different. No disrespect. If you like the other lists, by all means, go crazy. They’ve just never worked out for me.
1. Make your own whisky gift basket or flight package
Go to an LCBO that has an excellent whisky selection and grab a bunch of different whiskies that are 200ml and make a custom gift basket or whiskey flight. Don’t forget you can always order online. Whisky lovers love whisky right?
2. Belfry Chocolates
This small shop in Alliston, ON hand makes their own chocolate truffles infused with whisky. Anything made with whisky is better.
Whisky chocolates = yummy! Choose from Scotch, Bourbon, Canadian, Beatie’s Distillery and other spirits they have on rotation. Very cool. Chocolate and whisky go really well together when done right. Belfry does it right.

3.Whisky barrel coffee
Ok so this one is a little pricey to ship to Canada. However, I think this is a pretty cool gift idea. If you’re in the US for a bit, order some. Why not? This whisky barrel aged coffee sounds and looks awesome. Wax sealed glass bottles… sick!
OR
Cooper’s Coffee Whisky is probably easier to get, although it doesn’t have a wax sealed fancy glass bottle. I haven’t tried either of these brands but I do add whisky to my coffee regularly and it’s awesome.
4. Bake a whisky cake!
Like I said, anything made with whisky is better so bake your loved one this cake. Delicious, just look at it! You can use whatever whisky you like to change up the flavour.

5. Whisky Books
Indigo has tons of books on whisky! Why not pick up a book or two as a gift. The gift of knowledge is never a bad idea.
6. Original Grain Watch
This is so cool! Watches made from barrels, whiskey barrels. Hand crafted, sustainable, no two watches are the same. Check it out, they have a v-day gift guide as well.
I was lucky enough to get a Original Grain watch as a gift from my bro for Christmas. I get compliments on my watch every time I wear it.

7. Beard oil + whisky = awesome
Check these guys out! Burnt Whisky Beard Co. They are based out in BC and they have a killer website. I personally haven’t tried their beard oil yet but I hear good things. They too have a v-day deal going on. I am definitely going to buy some as soon as my Tame the Mane Whisky and Tobacco beard oil runs out! I’d also suggest you pick up a bottle of Tame the Mane but it’s out of stock online and I bought it at local shop called Dé.tails in Alliston. I love the smell of this oil and it lasts all day. A good buy if you can find it.
8.Large silicone Ice cube tray
If the he, she or human you love likes to add ice to their drinks or make cocktails then this is a good buy. Heck, if anyone likes ice in their drink, this is a good buy. Keep your drink cold without diluting it to fast. Easy to get the cubes out of this awesome tray too.

9. Private whisky flight from the Whisky boss
Ok, personal plug here but seriously this would make an awesome gift. Give your loved one a private whisky tasting experience with The Whisky Boss.

10. MANHATTAN cocktail set
This one get me very excited just looking at it. It’s everything you need to make the perfect Manhattan. Well, almost everything… You’ll need some whisky of course. I suggest picking up a bottle of Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whisky 100 bottled in bond. If you live in Toronto definitely stop by the Cocktail Emporium, it’s a very cool shop and totally worth a visit. I didn’t know there were so many types of bitters until I set foot in this place.
Happy gifting love birds.
Cheers!
